Legal Personnel Assistant
For the New York Office of a Very Prestigious Law FirmThis is a filled position.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinate the associate new hire orientation and departure process; handle verbal employment verifications; coordinate distribution of materials to associates; process vacation time requests; assist with year-end compensation process;
- Prepare personnel files and conduct quarterly audit of all associate files;
- Assist with logistics related to all Legal Personnel events;
- Process partner bar dues, charitable check requests and miscellaneous invoices;
- Draft and type correspondence, memos and preparing charts, etc.; handle heavy telephone volume; assist with heavy volume of filing; schedule meetings; provide forwarding information for Alumni;
- Assist with the documentation and collection of various Legal Personnel processes for Disaster Recovery purposes; assist with recruiting.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree; 2+ years of administrative work experience;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to work well under pressure and multitask; detail-oriented work manner, and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines;
- Ability to conduct research;
- Knowledge of computer applications including Word, Excel and Lotus Notes; the ability to learn other Legal Personnel applications including PeopleSoft; flexibility to work additional hours as needed.
