BD Specialist - Bankruptcy
For the New York Office of an International Law FirmThis is a filled position.
Responsibilities include:
- Understand the diverse work of the practice group in order to identify new business opportunities, leveraging social media and other technology to broaden the networks of Partners, building their personal brands and their practice group brands;
- Help Partners develop a practice development plan and provide follow-up support;
- Act as an internal BD consultant, helping Partners to develop sales strategies, identify cross selling opportunities, generate leads and drive the new business pipeline;
- Experience with proposal writing and managing the proposal process; contribute to marketing and BD development plans of the practice groups;
- Create and implement strategies that leverage media to raise the profiles of the practice and its partners and conduct competitive intelligence research and provide attorneys with actionable summary reports;
- Ensure the accuracy of the practice group's client lists, matter lists, market data and other information, identifying credible directories the Partners and practice should be listed in and prepare ranking and award submissions.
Qualifications include:
- An in-depth understanding of bankruptcy and 3-5 years of law firm marketing experience;
- Experience with research tools including: Capital IQ and Lexis/Nexis;
- Outstanding writing, project management, and interpersonal communications;
- Ability to be pro-active, self-directed, multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment;
- Ability to interface with staff and attorneys at all levels; pleasantly assertive with Partners about new ideas;
