Alumni Program Manager
For the New York or DC Office of an International Law FirmThis is a filled position.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement a global strategy action plan for alumni engagement that supports the Firm's business objectives; develop events and communications that build a strong alumni community around the world;
- Develop mechanisms such as online surveys to assess the effectiveness of the Firm's alumni efforts and identify new initiatives to support the program and different alumni groups going forward;
- Communications: create a plan for using social media to connect with the alumni network; assess the effectiveness of the alumni newsletter and develop new content; assess and make improvements to alumni website; improve knowledge sharing forums for alumni
- Establish a common format for alumni events globally; create an alumni events toolkit for those who support local alumni initiatives to assist them in organizing alumni events in a globally consistent manner;
- Determine best practices for maintaining accurate alumni information, exploring opportunities using the Firm's CRM program (InterAction), web-based alumni directory and LinkedIn alumni group;
- Ensure that alumni information is readily available to partners and business development team members targeting new sources of business or preparing pitches and presentations.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or related field; in-depth experience leading alumni programs in a professional service environment; experience in a law firm highly desirable;
- Client service orientation and strong interpersonal skills; professional, credible and proactive approach; able to communicate effectively with colleagues, partners, senior leadership, and other stakeholders from different cultural backgrounds;
- Strategic thinker who excels at coming up with original ideas; proven ability to generate the support needed to execute them;
- Strong teambuilding skills, ability to engage productively with colleagues to achieve shared goals;
- Excellent writing and editing skills; a persuasive communicator;
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
