Marketing & Business Development Specialist

For the Washington, DC Office of a Premier Boutique Intellectual Property Law Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies and branding initiatives to expand the Firm's marketing platforms; develop and implement marketing plans and projects for new and existing attorneys, practice areas, and Firm services;
  • Manage the Firm's website content, track and report on social media, blog and website analytics;
  • Establish relationships and liaise with key media contacts, including generating and fielding media inquiries and collaborating with appropriate members of the Firm for preparing responses;
  • Manage the publication of attorney and Firm awards and recognition (e.g., Chambers USA, Legal 500, etc.); develop and implement procedures for drafting submissions and nominations/rankings for industry publications;
  • Coordinate external firm publication placements, draft press releases, and coordinate communication projects (e.g., email alerts, firm news, presentations, case digests, summaries);
  • Manage the design, content and production of all internal and external collateral and templates (print and electronic); keep all firm information up-to-date with external vendors and directory publication listings.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marketing, Communications or related field; 3+ years of experience in all aspects of developing and managing marketing strategies and activities;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; effective interpersonal and team-building skills;
  • Proven ability to take a proactive approach to marketing and media relations;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects with minimal supervision; able to meet deadlines and work well under pressure;
  • Knowledge of legal and business concepts or able to learn them quickly;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and with web interfaces; prior experience in law firm marketing is a plus.
