Senior Coordinator - Legal Personnel

For the New York Office of an International Law Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee written communications with incoming associates (laterals, clerks, entry level) regarding pre-hire requirements, maintain and assemble information packets for new hires, coordinate orientation schedule for lateral hires and conduct orientations;
  • Work closely with Partners and others to update the on-line office manuals with changes in policy; solicit input from various administrators and Partners as appropriate; maintain audit trail of all audits;
  • Manage associate and summer associate office space assignments according to Firm protocol; coordinate moves and space projections with Operations staff;
  • Verify attorney data, including practice specialty memberships, government service, bar associates, etc.;
  • Coordinate cross-department initiatives with Recruiting, Professional Development, and Human Resources.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree required, 3+ years HR or related experience in a professional services environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to thrive within a team environment; discreet and tactful in handling associate issues; ability to spot potential issues and articulate practical solutions;
  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and complete tasks with minimal supervision; strong organization and multi-tasking skills;
  • Professional demeanor and flexibility with strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Highly proficient with MS Office and HRIS systems, knowledge of PeopleSoft a plus.
