BD & Marketing Manager (Data Privacy)

For the New York Office of a National Law Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Act as point of contact and provide strategic guidance and proactive recommendations for the development, implementation, and management of BD and marketing plans, materials, communications, and client programs within the Data Privacy Group;
  • Support BD Leaders, laterals, target teams and individual attorneys in assigned areas with business development (plans, cross-selling, research, RFP responses/pitches/presentations);
  • Provide marketing support (client events, alerts, experience lists, and other customized materials) for Firm-wide and other development targets and opportunities;
  • Work closely with the Communications team to identify and leverage media opportunities, plan internal messaging to inform and promote cross-selling; contribute to the development of thought leadership client deliverables;
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to prepare submissions to rankings and directories; collaborate with the appropriate communications team members to maintain and update web content;
  • Team with colleagues, BD & Marketing Administrators and other functional specialists to integrate marketing plans across practices and offices, ensure tracking databases are updated, and share ideas and best practices.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree, MBA or JD a plus. Senior professional experience, 7+ years marketing, BD experience. Law firm or professional service experience highly desirable; Data Privacy experience not required;
  • Ability to think strategically, develop tactics, and execute pragmatically; strong client service approach and team orientation;
  • Project and team management experience with attention to detail and a willingness to
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with a tolerance for uncertainty and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision; demonstrate good judgment and flexibility under pressure;
  • Establish credibility with attorney base through quality work and communications that bring to bear the right mix of confidence, tact, persistence, and reliability;
  • Self-starter who knows how to motivate others and take initiative; collaborate, influence, and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the firm; written communications must be concise, professional, and accurate.
