Attorney Mentoring and Training Coordinator
For the New York Office of a Prestigious International Law FirmThis is a filled position.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with the facilitation and oversight of the Firm's formal mentoring and mentoring circle programs, including: matching mentors/mentees, acting as point of contact for questions, managing programs & participation, and monitoring program budget;
- Work with the Director of Attorney Training in onboarding entry level associates, including planning and administering the Firm's annual intensive orientation and integration programming for new lawyers;
- Assist with the development, implementation and assessment of skills programs for attorneys, including assisting with logistics of in-person and virtual training courses and with identification and assessment of outside faculty for training programs;
- Collaborate with other regional teams in Legal Recruitment, Professional Development, Diversity and Human Resources to ensure a holistic approach to training;
- Plan and execute large-scale events, including welcome parties, mentoring celebrations, and other internal and external gatherings; process invoices, track expenses, and monitor budgets;
- Keep up-to-date on trends, developments and best practices in the field of attorney development by reading professional journals, articles and books, and attending attorney development seminars, conferences and workshops.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's Degree; 3+ years of experience in the legal and/or professional services fields or a legal or education degree or advanced coursework in adult learning;
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work with minimal supervision; strong attention to detail;
- Strong written and oral communication skills, ability to collaborate effectively with team members;
- A demonstrated initiative, creativity, judgment, and tact;
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all internal and personnel affairs and provide exemplary customer service;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; knowledge of viDesktop is a plus.
