BD Manager - Mergers & Acquisitions

For the New York Office of a Large, Global Law Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Research, draft and independently produce materials for client meetings/interviews; support development, implementation and follow-up activities surrounding client plans and client visits that are part of US BD efforts;
  • Respond to RFPs/RFIs for the US and globally; liaise with lawyers, BD colleagues and design/production team; maintain the experience and pitch databases;
  • Run key business development initiatives for the US M&A group, including client targeting exercises and business planning activities and liaise closely with global practice group heads on these initiatives;
  • Organize client seminars/conferences/webinars, from start to finish (venue sourcing , invite lists, materials, day-of logistics, and follow-up);
  • Draft, coordinate, proof and update publications and client alerts; coordinate mailings for client newsletters and briefings; compile entries for league tables and directory submissions;
  • Update and manage the US M&A sections of the firm's website; own the development and maintenance of the US M&A portion of internal databases and CRM systems and ensuring BD information is current.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree, 4-8 years of BD experience in a professional services environment;
  • Strong experience in the areas of corporate, M&A, and other transactional practices;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience responding to RFPs;
  • Willingness to collaborate with other team members; ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment; strong organizational skills;
  • Able to work in a deadline driven environment, including evening and weekend hours, as necessary;
  • Good systems and database skills to include experience with Windows-based packages; expert level with Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Thomason-Reuters Connect CRM and Experience Manager Systems preferred.
