Marketing & BD Manager - Litigation

For the New York Office of a Multinational Law Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with practice group and practice area leaders to implement marketing goals; identify cross-selling opportunities within existing practice group clients and other firm clients; manage responses to RFPs, customized pitches, and BD presentations;
  • Drive annual business -and budget-planning processes and manage follow-up throughout the year; assist the Recruiting Department with the integration of lateral partners and counsel by helping create personal BD plans;
  • Evaluate Litigation group strengths, conduct research on clients and competitor activity, remain aware of industry trends to aid in the development of marketing plans, pitches, presentations, and proposals;
  • Work with communication team to build profile for the Practice Group, Practice Areas, Industry Sector, and Client Teams by publicizing victories, news items, events, and relevant articles;
  • Manage web and print marketing collateral; assist in production of internal and client newsletters; manage and evaluate participation in sponsorships and directories;
  • Produce and manage marketing-oriented events (seminars, receptions, trade show booths); work with and advise practice area leaders to plan practice meetings and retreats to achieve group goals.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's Degree; 7+ years of relevant experience preferred, preferably in a professional services industry;
  • Ability to think broadly and demonstrate a high level of initiative;
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision; ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure;
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and attorneys to carry out the firm's marketing goals; project and team management experience;
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively with colleagues and facilitate teamwork; ability to adapt quickly to different situations and personalities;
  • Excellent writing, research, and presentation skills; strong attention to detail.
