Lateral Partner Recruiting Director - Firm-wide

For the New York Office of an Extremely Collaborative and Strategically Growing Law Firm

Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with Firm management in defining and executing Partner recruiting strategies;
  • Develop and manage relationships with preferred search firms to promote the Firm and lateral opportunities; prepare search firm agreements;
  • Draft initial candidate proposal documentation and Partner offer letters; work with practice groups to develop lateral recruitment collateral;
  • Conduct research and analysis, and convey relevant findings on market trends, recruiting opportunities and Firm recruiting performance as it relates to Partner level hiring;
  • Serve as primary point of contact for Partner candidates and search firms throughout the hiring process; work with local recruiting contacts to ensure background checks are performed; ensure successful pre-arrival orientation items are coordinated;
  • Coordinate and manage in-office interview schedules for Partner candidates and internal interviewers; distribute recruiting materials to prospective lateral candidates and develop and send candidate briefing materials to interviewers.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree required; 6+ years recruiting experience in a large law firm, preferably with multi-office experience and in support of senior level associate and/or Partner level lateral hiring;
  • Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills; ability to relate to and gain the confidence of professionals at all levels, as well as the ability to build strong relationships and work in a collaborative environment;
  • Demonstrable analytical skills and general business acumen; strategic mindset and hands-on approach;
  • Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task in a fast-paced, professional services environment;
  • Proactive and positive work style.
