Senior Marketing & BD Manager - Securities and Finance Practice

For the New York Office of a Global Economic Consulting Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the primary marketing and BD resource for Securities & Finance, Bankruptcy, White Collar Crime, Financial Risk, and Mass Torts; develop and implement strategic practice group and individual marketing plans and assess their effectiveness;
  • Utilize knowledge of clients and industries to help proactively spot business trends and business development opportunities;
  • Manage production of marketing collateral and intellectual capital; oversee the production and distribution of mailings, client alerts, newsletters, etc.; identify and pursue appropriate speaking opportunities at conferences and law firms;
  • Assist in the preparation of thoughtful and comprehensive RFPs and pitch opportunities;
  • Organize and manage practice specific events, such as webinars, conferences, sponsorships and other client-facing events; assist in the production of large-scale company sponsored conferences;
  • Cultivate strong relationships with practice leadership and senior staff to enable them to accomplish their business objectives more effectively.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Mar/Comm or similar degree; 10+ years of relevant marketing experience; 3+ years in a professional services setting; law firm experience preferred; experience in Finance and/or Securities practice groups a must;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex, technical concepts into accessible prose;
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills; detail-oriented and accurate; ability to handle tight deadlines and shifting priorities; ability to find creative solutions;
  • Strong understanding of how economic analysis plays a pivotal role in financial, legal, and regulatory matters;
  • Solid strategic and operational marketing background; experience with planning and managing multi-faceted programs across different target audiences;
  • Experience working within a team across multiple domestic and international locations; ability to interact diplomatically and work effectively with staff and vendors at all levels.
