BD Manager

For the New York Office of a Global Litigation Boutique Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide strategic BD advice to leadership and partners focused on the generation of new business leads, expansion of existing referral relationships, and identification and pursuit of cross-selling opportunities;
  • Serve as primary liaison to several of the firm's product groups; create BD strategies and plans, and assist with implementation and execution, including tracking initiatives and outcomes, as well as developing related budgets;
  • Assist attorneys with the creation and implementation of individual business plans to drive their BD goals, as well as identify new opportunities that may broaden their network; regularly monitor plans for progress;
  • Manage submissions and references; leverage rankings in BD materials; draft pitches/proposals, RFP responses, and presentation materials; craft key message points for firm leaders in preparation for referral meetings, client pitches and press meetings;
  • Conduct industry research and develop knowledge about firm referral sources, clients and industries when needed; oversee client and market research and analysis, including researching litigation, corporate and individual profiles;
  • Draft content for the firm's marketing materials including the website, mobile site, printed materials, etc.; create and maintain library of core pitch materials, experience lists, tailored bios, etc.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing, communications, public relations or a related field; 4+ years related experience with a law firm or professional services firm;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including writing, copy editing, researching, and managing data skills;
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize accordingly; ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
