Director of Alumni Relations
For the New York or Boston Office of a Global Law FirmThis is a filled position.
Responsibilities include:
- Design, build and execute a plan to create a world class alumni program; work closely with partner co-chairs of the alumni committee to develop the strategy, work plan, and infrastructure necessary to support the program's goals;
- Identify and execute alumni-focused activities that will support the business development goals and objectives specified by the firm; ensure goals are aligned with the firm's strategic plan;
- Plan and execute events, which may include regional or office-specific alumni-only events; ensure that alumni are included in firm seminars and other networking events/receptions;
- Develop career placement services and a referral network; work closely with legal recruiting team to identify opportunities for alumni and associates;
- Develop and execute an external communications plan in coordination with the Communications and PR teams; manage internal marketing that clearly articulates the value, benefits and goals of the program; maintain alumni database and alumni page on website;
- Build a working knowledge of the firm's key clients and industries, as well as the practice groups' services, priorities, and strategy.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree; MBA or JD preferred; 10-15 years of experience in alumni relations within a large professional services firm; experience within the legal industry preferred;
- Demonstrated track record of building and maintaining a robust alumni relations program;
- Executive-level presence, poise and the ability to interact effectively and build relationships with multiple constituents; ability to influence action and achieve results; strong leadership skills;
- Goal-oriented and ability to attain objectives;
- Demonstrated project management skills.
