Manager of Recruitment & Professional Development

For the New York Office of an International Law Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with office leadership on strategic identification and development of candidate pipelines; review hiring needs and potential candidates;
  • Organize and oversee on-campus fall legal recruitment efforts, including scheduling, interviewing, active management of offers, follow-up efforts, maintaining candidate database, etc.; plan and execute the summer associate program;
  • Manage PD initiatives and liaise with attorneys on associate PD; provide formal and informal feedback for associates and counsel; help design and implement associate development and retention initiatives;
  • Help facilitate the associate review processes, including collecting feedback, overseeing the process of drafting evaluations, monitoring the status of evaluations and review talks; provide assistance with promotion process.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree, or related educational and/or business experience; 2+ years attorney recruitment experience, including coordination of on-campus recruiting and summer programs;
  • Previous PD experience preferred, including coordination of in-house training programs and familiarity with NY CLE rules and procedures;
  • Strong interpersonal, client service and organizational skills; excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment; excellent attention to detail;
  • Experience with preparing statistical analyses and monitoring budgets is desired;
  • Strong technology skills and a familiarity with on-line recruiting, databases (i.e., viRecruit) and spreadsheets; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and database experience.
