BD Analyst

For the New York Office of an International Law Firm

Responsibilities include:

• Research and analyze business and industry trends; synthesize and articulate research findings into reports that will inform and support business development initiatives;
• Support practice groups with various research and business intelligence projects;
• Conduct ongoing peer firm competitive intelligence;
• Prepare custom target lists of clients in industry or geographic regions; provide regular market data and analysis; develop a client newsletter;
• Provide assistance to practice managers on compiling key deal and matter lists for special presentations;
• Liaise with Library, Accounting, etc. on specialized research requests; provide analysis and presentation of research around special projects requested by firm management; provide direct support to key lead partners on presentations.

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing; advanced degree a plus; 1+ years of experience in consulting, banking or legal or professional services fields, preferably with some exposure to data analytics and business research;
• Excellent research, data analysis and communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to synthesize intelligence from a variety of sources into coherent, succinct reports;
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills; ability to communicate and work effectively with lawyers & clients;
• Works well in fast-paced environment; ability to adapt and respond to changing priorities; strong client-service attitude;
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines;
• Fluency in Excel and PowerPoint required; familiarity with research databases.
