Senior Manager of Communications

For the DC Office of a Premier Full Service Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee and create all strategic marketing content to identify messaging, experience, and thought leadership opportunities that can be used to differentiate the firm and enhance the marketing of its attorneys and practices;
  • Serve as primary department writer and editor, and manage creation of all collateral and internal/external communications; ensure consistent firm branding and key messages;
  • Handle media relations and develop PR plans and press materials; maintain press lists and manage communications-related vendor relationships;
  • Utilize internal communications channels to promote cross-selling opportunities, pro bono efforts, and community-building initiatives;
  • Manage directories and recognitions program (including Chambers USA and Legal 500) and deployment of third-party awards, rankings, and testimonials.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree; 8-10+ years of experience in a marketing communications role in a law firm (preferred) or other professional services firm;
  • Excellent writing, communications, and media relations skills; very detail oriented;
  • Experience with financial service clients and/or litigation and regulatory groups;
  • Ability to see the big picture to create consistent messaging across marketing initiatives;
  • Very proactive and able to take ownership;
  • Ability to collaborate with staff, attorneys, and external entities to drive results in a fast-paced environment.
