Marketing Communications Writer

For the New York Office of a Premier International Law Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Convey the Firm's capabilities and experience across practices, industries and regions;
  • Assist a world-class law firm express its culture and value proposition to existing and potential clients, recruits and other audiences;
  • Work with the Marketing Communications Editor and others to help apply a common tone and standard of quality for all written marketing and business development materials;
  • Work with the global BD team to produce client-, recruit- and other external-facing materials and messaging; create website and intranet content; and copy for new communications platforms, such as selected social media channels;
  • Assist in the application of a new editorial style guide for marketing and business development written materials;
  • Provide general editorial support to the global business development team.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree, ideally in a relevant discipline like, Communications, Journalism, English, etc.; 5+ years of experience in professional services;
  • Excellent business writing, editing and interviewing skills, including attention to detail and commitment to providing error-free, targeted content;
  • Superior interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with and provide exceptional client service to lawyers and staff at all levels of seniority;
  • Desire to take ownership of projects from development to execution; ability to work independently and as a member of a project team, organize/prioritize work, handle sensitive matters and meet deadlines; work well under pressure with shifting demands;
  • Flexibility to adjust hours to meet operating needs;
  • Must be proficient in the use of MS Office and willing to learn and use technologies that are new to the firm.
