BD Manager - Infrastructure

For the Los Angeles Office of an Innovative Mid-sized Law Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement effective marketing and BD plans at the practice group and individual attorney level that are aligned with Firm goals; oversee budgets to support the initiatives outlined in these plans;
  • Coach and train attorneys regarding BD/marketing strategies and best practices; play a key role in lateral integration;
  • Conduct client satisfaction interviews and develop client service improvement programs;
  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Events and Communications Teams on identifying and assessing BD/marketing opportunities such as sponsorships, events, organization memberships, awards and honors, press releases, etc;
  • Assist with the creation of targeted marketing materials, competitive intelligence research and analysis, and the submission of winning proposal/pitch/presentation materials;
  • Share best practices and cross-selling opportunities between practice and industry groups and offices.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree; JD or MBA preferred; 7+ years of BD experience in a leadership position in professional services;
  • Law firm experience required; familiarity with the Infrastructure market and related industries preferred;
  • Proven track record in developing and administering successful BD and client service programs;
  • Strong strategy development, critical thinking, creativity, writing and general business skills, as well as excellent managerial and communication skills;
  • Ability to motivate and manage attorneys and staff; anticipate and solve problems as they arise and implement effective conflict resolution;
  • Handle a heavy workload, competing priorities and multi-task effectively; orchestrate change using diplomacy and persuasion.
