BD Manager - Government Investigations

For the Washington D.C. Office of an International Law Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with Government Investigations area of focus, DC office leaders and other partners to help craft and execute a range of go-to-market strategies; conduct research on potential clients and competitors to identify trends and growth opportunities;
  • Draft materials and play a coordinating role in connection with pitches, RFPs and other new business opportunities; craft and update marketing materials including, website content, brochures, lawyer biographies, etc.;
  • Identify and facilitate sponsorships, conferences, memberships and other key profile-building opportunities for the practice, office and individual lawyers; coordinate firm-hosted BD events including, receptions, client outings, presentations, webcasts;
  • Coordinate Government Investigations partner meetings and facilitate internal communications and knowledge sharing; assist lawyers on the development of their individual business plans;
  • Manage legal directory and league ranking submissions, and assist the PR team in the generation of matters and other information for awards submissions; oversee the upkeep and compilation of matter lists; manage client and target contact lists;
  • Compile period reports on BD activity; coordinate marketing budget; serve as the primary contact for DC office-related BD and marketing requests for all areas of the firm.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's Degree; JD or MBA is a plus; 7+ years of experience in a BD or Marketing role within DC-based law firm; strong background in government enforcement/litigation;
  • Highly intelligent, proactive and business-minded approach to all responsibilities and initiatives;
  • An exceedingly professional, yet approachable, demeanor, with comfort and competence both in dealing with senior lawyers and working collaboratively with other lawyers and staff throughout the firm;
  • Excellent project management skills, with keen attention to detail and an ability to prioritize and execute multiple ongoing tasks often under tight deadlines;
  • Strong and effective written and verbal communications skills;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite ; website CRM platforms and InterAction; facility with HTML and design applications preferred but not required.
