U.S. Senior Communications Manager

For the New York Office of a Magic Circle Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure a strategic and audience-focused approach to all communications in the U.S.; work with marketing leaders on the planning and management of all US campaign initiatives; ensure best practices are met and plans are integrated;
  • Lead, manage and coach the team; facilitate individual professional development for team members providing support on difficult assignments or situations;
  • Develop the Firm's branding elements to ensure a high quality look and feel across all communications projects in the US; work with global head of communications to maintain key messages and consistent application;
  • Work closely with the Digital Communications Manager to continue driving use of digital and social channels; manage out-sourced agencies; work with content team to provide strategic advice and serve as a primary contact;
  • Research, monitor, track and report on key U.S. competitor and challenger brands marketing and communications actions, key influential brand partnerships and relationships;
  • Work with the global HR team and alumni teams to assist with the branding and positioning of external people recruitment campaigns and alumni communications.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's Degree; 7+ years of experience working in marketing or external communications roles within an international business environment;
  • Successful track record of working with senior management and/or Partners and working across cultures successfully; good understanding of professional services content marketing;
  • Good working knowledge of communications, marketing and creative agencies in New York and Washington D.C.;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to listen, clarify and share information easily; strong research and organizational skills;
  • Ability to build strong working relationships and to be able to persuade and influence a range of people, including Partners; strong personal presence; problem-solving, proactive approach;
  • Ability to lead in a high pressure environment with a focus on results; resilient, calm and positive under pressure; commitment to the highest level of integrity and performance.
