Practice Development Manager - Labor, Benefits, IP & Tech Litigation

For the New York Office of a Well-Respected Law Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Help design and execute BD plans; develop strategies to build and reinforce practice group brand positioning and differentiate from competitors; work closely with Partners and practice group chairs to adjust plans proactively as market conditions change;
  • Identify strategies for new business opportunities by staying informed about the needs of clients and their industries; produce business presentations and proposals; provide structure and support to cross-selling initiatives;
  • Maintain each practice's pipeline of opportunities; track results of pitches and proposals; provide timely ideas and other support to ensure consistent progress towards achieving BD goals;
  • Maintain the quality and accuracy of each practice's collateral materials, experience lists and other information; manage research efforts concerning new business targets, industries and competitors;
  • Create and implement multi-faceted strategies to raise the profiles of the practices and Partners, such as by securing speaking, sponsorship and writing opportunities; coordinate events and CLE presentations;
  • Manage content marketing strategy, including distribution of client advisories and the creation of digital media content; identify credible directories and prepare ranking and awards submissions.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's Degree; 7+ years of marketing or BD experience;
  • Proactive, detail-oriented and self-directed;
  • Outstanding writing and communication skills;
  • Demonstrated project management experience;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work professionally with different kinds of people; exercises sound judgment.
