BD Manager

For the LA Office of a Well-Respected Am Law 100 Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitor industry, client and legal trends to identify opportunities for the marketing dept., firm leadership and lawyers; work with the Competitive Intelligence Manager to deliver client, region, competitor and industry research;
  • Provide presentation and pitch support/coaching to lawyers, including drafting and defining pitch meeting scripts and roles, creating pitch material, assessing strategy, managing projects, etc.;
  • Work with lawyers to ensure biographies, practice and office descriptions are up-to-date and ready for publication; respond to directories and surveys, such as Chambers and Legal 500, as well as regional awards and rankings;
  • Work with the Firm's partners to issue branded client alerts, newsletters and CLE trainings; develop and coordinate programs and events in the DC office;
  • Assist the communications team in raising profiles of practice groups, offices, individual partners and the Firm and identify opportunities for speaking engagements and article placement.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a discipline requiring writing, research and analysis, marketing or business;
  • 5+ years of marketing experience;
  • MBAs or JDs are a plus for candidates with law firm or professional services experience;
  • Highly organized with strong creative abilities, verbal and written skills;
  • Ability to work with highest levels of firm management; capable of quickly understanding the Firm's goals, service, culture and strategy;
  • Ability to direct work effort and mentor peers and subordinates.
