Business Development Specialist - Bankruptcy & Restructuring, White Collar

For the New York Office of an International Law Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain and update practice marketing content including practice group descriptions and lawyer biographies;
  • Conduct research on current and prospective clients, competitor activity and industry market trends; monitor sector and geographic trends; assess implications and make marketing recommendations based on research;
  • Draft event write-ups for the Firm website (seminars, speaking engagements, sponsorships, etc.), and assist the Senior Writer in the production of newsletters and client alerts;
  • Work with the Communications team to raise lawyer and practice visibility through campaigns (blogs, webinars, videos, press releases), and identify cross-selling opportunities by working with lawyers to expand client relationships;
  • Assist Practice Group Management with the creation and implementation of budgets; regularly monitor and report on progress;
  • Serve as point of contact for conferences, sponsorships and seminars.

Qualifications include:

  • 6+ years of business development experience in a legal or professional services firm;
  • Exemplary communication skills, both verbal and written, to capture, distill and accurately describe the Firm's services;
  • Advanced search, data collection and reporting skills, including use of CRM tools; experience with Adobe Illustrator, Pitchbook, The Deal's Private Raise, Mansama, BoardEx and/or Relationship Science;
  • Strong problem solving skills including the ability to anticipate problems as well as suggest and execute on solutions;
  • Experience working independently as well as within cross-functional teams in a collaborative professional environment.
