Director of Communications

For the New York City Office of an International Law Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Implement a firm-wide communications and visibility strategy to raise the Firm's profile, using a variety of media channels;
  • Lead communications professionals in supporting the Firm's public relations and media relations programs;
  • Develop media contacts and relationships with key business and legal journalists in national or trade media;
  • Create online and social media strategies.

Qualifications include:

  • 7+ years of broad-based public relations and communications experience within a large professional services firm or corporate environment; Law firm experience highly preferred;
  • Bachelor's degree required; JD preferred;
  • Experience with national or trade media; experience with international media highly desirable;
  • Strong understanding of the legal industry, as well as the regional and national business environment;
  • Confidence, professionalism, and the ability to develop relationships with Firm management and attorneys;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; exceptional interpersonal skills.
