Head of US Human Resources
For the New Haven or New York Office of a Mid-sized International Law FirmThis is a filled position.
Responsibilities include:
- Supervise US HR Managers who are responsible for recruitment, benefits administration, staff assignments and personnel issues, and office events; and an HR Assistant who coordinates new hire and orientation processes for new US hires;
- Consult with US HR Managers and Office Managers to oversee staffing needs, secretarial ratios, employee relations and communications, salary benchmarking, and HRIS;
- Work with Head of Learning & Development to create relevant training programs to enhance professional development, including the implementation of management, client service and diversity trainings;
- Manage both mid-year and annual performance reviews of all US associates, including collecting feedback, summarizing annual reviews and conducting review meetings with associates and practice group leaders;
- Monitor short-term and long-term secondments of US associates to other offices in Europe and Asia, including involvement in the selection process, obtaining necessary work permits, and handling relocation;
- Plan and maintain annual HR budget for the US offices; Oversee compensation and bonus programs for associates and staff.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred; 10+ years experience in HR;
- Ability to establish credibility and influence all levels of individuals;
- Excellent communication, organizational and presentation skills;
- Knowledge of employment law at both the Federal and State levels;
- Ability to resolve employee conflicts in a timely and equitable manner;
- Professional, calm demeanor.
