Sr. BD Manager, Finance

For the New York, Boston or Connecticut Office of an International Law Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

• Formulate strategic initiatives and manage day-to-day BD and marketing activities within the Finance practice group; manage and mentor a team of BD and marketing professionals.
• Research and analyze information on industries and target clients to identify business development opportunities;
• Support business development pitches, RFPs and presentations, from initial strategy development through drafting, reviewing and production of deliverables;
• Draft internal and external communications, including collateral materials;
• Collaborate with practice group management, lawyers and the Firm PR team to identify and pursue PR and thought leadership opportunities;
• Design and implement action-oriented business development and marketing plans.

Qualifications include:

• 8+ years of experience in marketing, BD or practice development; 3+ years of leadership, supervisory or management experience;
• Knowledge of the competitive landscape challenging major national law firms with substantial litigation practices;
• Ability to synthesize information into professional marketing communications;
• Proficiency in the use of PowerPoint, spreadsheets and database applications;
• Exceptional writing skills; demonstrated capacity to develop and implement strategic business plans;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with differing opinions and diverse personalities.
