Sr. BD Manager

For the Chicago Office of a Well-Known DC Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as lead business development manager for the environmental products and mass toxic tort practice, supporting lawyers in the Chicago and San Francisco offices;
  • Work with the office managing partner(s) and key stakeholders to develop and implement local marketing and business development strategies, plans and projects, including evaluation, tracking and follow-up.
  • Work in concert with the Director of PR/Media to maintain relations with local media sources and ensure maximum coverage of the Firm in the Chicago area; intentify speaking/writing opportunities for lawyers to create visibility and advance new business go
  • Monitor and report on industry trends and issues impacting key clients and practice-specific developments that offer new opportunities in the form of pitches, alerts, potential webinars and events;
  • Work with Events team to develop save-the-date and invitation communications, assisting with RSVP process, handouts and presentation materials; provides on-site event support, including webinar support using Marketing's third-party webinar platform
  • Coordinate with lawyers, MarCom and BD to produce communications, including e-newsletters, client advisories, announcements bios and practice descriptions; manage development and maintenance of content for intranet postings, capabilities materials, legal

Qualifications include:

  • 8-10+ years of BD & marketing experience, including significant law firm experience interfacing with litigation practices;
  • Excellent project management, organizational and planning skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects and meet deadlines;
  • Demonstrated good judgment and decision-making;
  • Team player who is self-motivated, independent, and communicates regularly with senior BD and marketing managers;
  • Sound knowledge of online research and marketing resources, Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
