Professional Support Lawyer
For the Philadelphia or New York Office of a Global Law FirmThis is a filled position.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversee implementation of a knowledge management program within the Corporate & Practice Group to achieve improved communication and resources for legal skills and client development;
- Work with practice group partners to organize and contribute to training sessions aimed at briefing attorneys on changes to the law, practice and precedents;
- Assist attorneys in understanding the relevant legal and commercial developments required of the Corporate & Securities practice area in order that they can better serve the Firm's clients; develop and maintain the C&S knowledge management and precedent
- Keep attorneys abreast of new points of law and current market developments;
- Assist the Practice Group Partners in developing and implementing a best-in-class, experiential training program in each of the core C&S areas: M&A/PE, Leveraged Finance, and Capital Markets;
- Liaise with attorneys and contribute to the production of articles, briefings, newsletters and other materials for circulation to clients and to be published in selected journals.
Qualifications include:
- 4+ years of experience as a practitioner in the areas of Corporate & Securities; prior knowledge management experience preferred; experience as a trainer, teacher or coach valued;
- A thorough understanding of the Corporate & Securities Practice Group and related areas of law, specifically M&A/PE, Leveraged Finance, and Capital Markets;
- Self-starter with a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills;
- Familiarity with basic legal technology systems and the ability to learn new technology applications;
- Ability to think critically and analytically in a pressured environment;
- Ability to work independently and to perform as a member of a geographically dispersed team.
