Business Development Manager - Litigation & Corporate

For the Chicago Office of a National Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage client development programs for Litigation and select Corporate practice groups to be assigned by the Director of Marketing;
  • Create and implement multifaceted strategies to raise the profiles of the practices and attorneys; collaborate with attorneys on business development plans;
  • Monitor present and emerging trends in specific client industries;
  • Assign tasks and projects to the marketing staff and communicate how the successful performance of those duties will be measured;
  • Ensure that marketing staff members have the tools and training needed to carry out their duties; communicate Firm policy and procedures; provide ongoing guidance to marketing staff;
  • Review and evaluate work product, methods and procedures on an ongoing basis; meet with staff members to identify and resolve problems as they occur; participate in preparation of written evaluations.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing; 6+ years of experience in a marketing/communications function within a professional services firm required; law firm experience preferred;
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills;
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, InterAction, Adobe InDesign, PowerPoint and project management software;
  • Strong client service attitude;
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines;
  • Work well under pressure; excellent problem-solver and team player.
