Global Director of Professional Development

For the New York or DC Office of a Global Law Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the Global PD team and devise and implement strategies for the professional development agenda;
  • Act as a primary liaison with the Firm's associates committee and oversee and manage monthly associate committee meetings;
  • Innovate, develop, implement, and provide guidance and oversight to the training and development programs; develop and lead training programs;
  • Oversee associate and counsel performance review processes; innovate the way feedback is given and received; oversee the associate level progression process and analysis;
  • Lead the planning and conducting of lateral associate orientations, as well as outreach to lateral partners, to help integrate new attorneys into the Firm;
  • Coordinate the Firm's responses to various surveys including Vault, AM Law Midlevel, Chambers and other publications; analyze results and recommend changes to elevate morale.

Qualifications include:

  • 10+ years of professional development experience in a law firm or professional services environment;
  • JD preferred;
  • Innovative and strategic thinker who is results-focused;
  • Outstanding mentoring and management skills;
  • Passion for training and developing talent;
  • Global travel required approximately 25% of the time.
