Legal Recruiting and Professional Development Manager

For the Houston Office of an IP Law Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the Summer Associate and Intern Program, including planning all events, organizing and preparing materials, arranging orientation traveling, and serving as a point of contact for all incoming summer associates and interns;
  • Maintain the accuracy of all recruiting files in firm recruiting database (LawCruit); update interview and application statuses for all lateral and summer associate candidates
  • Serve as point of contact for law school administrators and fall on campus interview coordinators; register for all on campus interview programs and select applicants for interviews; prepare interview binders; attend interview programs;
  • Coordinate call-back interviews in office for all summer associate candidates; coordinate travel logistics for out-of-town summer associate candidates; create interview schedules for all candidates based off of attorney availability;
  • Develop and maintain firm-wide skill curriculum; develop Associate Track for each class year; serve as mentor to Associates, Patent Agents and Technical Advisors; oversee firm-wide Training Budget; track Associate Benchmarks for use in Annual Reviews;
  • Prepare and send out welcome announcements for all new hires; prepare and send out internal communication about firm announcements.

Qualifications include:

  • 4+ years’ experience handling law firm recruiting and professional development;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communication, Public Relations, Marketing or any related field, or a combination of education and experience preferred;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Intermediate competency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and other computer/office functions.
