Senior Business Development Manager

For the DC Office of an International Law Firm

Responsibilities include:

  • Implementing practice level strategies on a firmwide basis to develop business with current, prospective and targeted clients;
  • Directs client and market research/analysis for specific practices; develops and manages the execution of the marketing and business development programs to achieve stated objectives regarding revenue, profitability and market share;
  • Works with Marketing Communications team in developing group and practice collateral including print, electronic media and direct mail;
  • Identifies cross-selling opportunities and manages proposal/RFP process;
  • Assists attorneys in maximizing the effectiveness of their business development efforts, including RFP responses, client presentations and other BD initiatives;
  • Supports several aspects of lateral hire integration, including identification of cross-marketing opportunities to pursue.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; 5+ years of BD/marketing experience in a law firm or related field;
  • Familiarity with MS Office and other software programs, including on-line databases such as Lexis/Nexis and Dun & Bradstreet preferred;
  • Ability to work well under pressure, patience, diplomacy, high stress tolerance, excellent interpersonal and written communication skills;
  • Communicates frequently with firm management, clients, attorneys and staff;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
