Marketing Manager - Litigation
For the New York Office of a National Law FirmThis is a filled position.
Responsibilities include:
- Foster and participate in the development and implementation of strategic Litigation practice group plans; participate in relevant monthly practice team meetings; act as liaison between marketing department as a whole and Litigation group team leaders;
- Maintain strong knowledge of legal market and litigation capabilities of the firm, including business trends, hot topics and competitive landscape, and apply this knowledge to maximize effectiveness of marketing initiatives;
- Support Litigation RFP/pitch opportunities including the creation of customized materials and sharing best practices in the Marketing Department's knowledgebase;
- Plan and execute group marketing events from start to finish, such as webinars, conferences, speaking engagements, sponsorships and other client events;
- Work with Marketing team to integrate lateral attorneys; work with PR & Comm team to identify and leverage media opportunities, maintain accurate and effective web content, publish timely client alerts, and prepare submissions to directories;
- Produce and/or manage the production of marketing collateral, brochures, practice profiles, announcements, invitations, ads, etc; maintain the Experience Database for significant litigation matters.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field, 5-7+ years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience; law firm experience highly desirable;
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations;
- Able to write reports and business correspondence, present information effectively, and respond to questions from all levels of professional and support staff, clients, and the general public;
- Demonstrated success strengthening corporate reputations and client relationships. Proven ability to manage major projects, coordinating the use of department resources and involving senior management;
- Strong analysis skills - able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions;
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts, such as probability and statistical inference; can interpret technical instructions and deal with abstract/concrete variables; able to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions
