Manager of Operations/Administration
For the New York Office of a Global Management Consulting FirmThis is a filled position.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage the daily operations of NY office, including Assistant Support, Office Services, Duplicating, Conference Center and Cafeteria functions; develop strong relationships and collaborate with managers, team leaders and coordinators as well as Partners;
- Work closely with the Executive Assistant (EA) Managers to develop strategy and plans for EA assignments and forecast future demand; monitor performance metrics and provide recommendations for improvement;
- Facilitate professional development and provide ongoing counsel to team members; ensure team members receive timely and appropriate feedback; help to identify and define training needs and opportunities;
- Oversee the planning and execution of office events, often in collaboration with a planning team; liaise with cafeteria and its outside vendor and monitor overall spending;
- Create a comprehensive office renovation plan by coordinating with all stakeholders and external vendors; complete project/work on time and within budget; make lease decisions and consider alternative space if necessary;
- Develop and manage budgets in each of the functional areas; ensure understanding of their priorities so that the support meets the expectations and needs of the office; manage vendor relationships and lead negotiations for key operational support.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other professional degree preferred; 8+ years of experience in a professional services firm;
- Experience in a leadership role as an Operations/Administration Manager with exposure to managing support staff - such as paralegals, executive assistants, secretarial staff;
- Excellent customer services skills and experience collaborating and working with senior leadership; strong integrity, maturity and fairness in dealing with people and confidential information;
- Strong decision making, problem solving, and leadership capabilities; ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure and in conflicting circumstances; proactive, resourceful, and takes initiative;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills and influencing capabilities; a flexible team player who knows how to build consensus;
- Comfort with technology platforms and systems that aid in managing operations.
