Resource & Operations Manager, Healthcare Practice

For the NY Office of a Well-Respected Law Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Organize the year-round recruiting approach working with the Senior Manager of Professional Recruiting and the Healthcare recruiter;
  • Develop and maintain database with the skill sets of Firm's Health consultants and their current assignments; work with project managers to ensure they have the correct consultants employed on their projects;
  • Develop resource forecasting processes to ensure adequate staff for assignments;
  • Manage the resourcing process in consultation with each office, including being the go-to person for Partners and Managing Directors, attending and supporting the weekly staffing call, and communicating assignments to the professional staff;
  • Manage the performance management, including competency models, performance reviews and individual development plans; manage the training programs, including the on-going development of consultants skills and the orientation of new hires;
  • Assist with the creation of the annual operating budget and ad hoc reports related to staff resourcing, performance and development.

Qualifications include:

  • BA and 8+ years of experience in a professional services organization - consulting or law; 4+ years of managerial experience in comparable setting; familiarity with local employment and immigration law;
  • In-depth understanding of performance management practices and adult learning methods and development strategies;
  • Customer service oriented with a warm and personable demeanor; a proven ability to solve employee relations problems;
  • Master multitasker who can handle competing priorities and deadlines and work independently and as part of a team;
  • Strong diagnosing skills, demonstrated by ability to use various methods (e.g. surveys, focus groups, interviews) to uncover underlying issues and possible solutions; analytical with creative and reliable problem solving skills;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skill to interact with all levels of management and staff.
