BD Manager/Specialist - Financial Restructuring
For the New York Office of a Global Law FirmThis is a filled position.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist in the implementation of practice group business and action plans by coordinating and tracking the groups' efforts and ensuring deadlines are met;
- Prepare proposals/RFP responses in coordination with BD department and attorneys; prepare submissions for various legal directories;
- Maintain current deal and case lists, marketing descriptions and client lists; work with the communications team to develop marketing messages and media lists and identify appropriate partners for media opportunities;
- Work with the marketing team to develop, prepare and distribute marketing materials; ensure marketing collateral is updated quarterly and appropriately reflects practice group experience and expertise;
- Identify, assess and coordinate conferences, seminars, forums, sponsorships, speaking and writing opportunities and ensure they are in line with the goals of the practices; manage client development expenses by practice group;
- Provide business intelligence on new business opportunities, market trends and competitive threats.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in a marketing-related field; advanced degree, JD or MBA a plus; 5+ years of experience and 2+ years relevant transactional experience at manager level within a law firm environment; 4+ years experience for specialist level;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong writing and editing skills; strong attention to detail;
- Strong work ethic, service orientation, and an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people at all levels; solid leadership skills;
- Ability to prioritize and manage workload, work independently and as a member of teams, and complete tasks under time pressure;
- Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; experience with InterAction, CapitalIQ, AtVantage, MonitorSuite and Proposal Pilot is preferred.
