BD Manager - Corporate
For the New York Office of a Magic Circle Law FirmThis is a filled position.
Responsibilities include:
- Support the Firm's client expansion in the Corporate segment by aiding Partners in client selection, development and acquisition, client research, and engaging in CRM strategy and support;
- Manage experienced BD professionals, in NY and Sao Paulo, who provide BD and marketing support to the Capital Markets practice and Latin America team;
- Support specific client relationships by developing and implementing strategic client plans, reviewing fee arrangements, conducting relationship and matter reviews, and arranging for value-added services, such as CLE seminars;
- Develop annual business plans, including conducting analyses and producing corresponding marketing strategies; develop pitches and capability statements and respond to RFPs in support of new and expanded business opportunities;
- Maintain and utilize deal flow information in marketing databases for submissions to Chambers, Legal 500 and IFLR directory listings (USA and Latin America); arrange for Partner interviews in support of annual submissions;
- Support cross-practice BD initiatives as identified by the Director of Business Development (e.g., Alumni and client receptions).
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree; MBA a plus; 8 + years of BD/marketing experience in professional services or law firm;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills a plus;
- Proven management experience; proactive and takes initiative;
- Ability to develop advisory relationships with Partners by demonstrating strong analytical skills, a global mindset and perspective, and a consultative, collaborative approach;
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize competing demands; ability to develop new processes and infrastructure.
