BD Assistant

For the New York Office of Leading International Law Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support the BD Manager in providing high quality and effective marketing, primarily for the Finance and Energy, Resources & Infrastructure practice groups;
  • Contribute to the production of pitches, RFPs, and various pitch preparation and client targeting research projects;
  • Assist with the creation, maintenance, and ordering of marketing materials for the US offices;
  • Coordinate events: source venues, marketing materials, and attendee tickets; prepare invite lists, associated invitations and documentation; provide on-site event support and hospitality; maintain log of events, PR activity, sponsorships, seminars;
  • Coordinate directory/league submissions and follow-up interviews;
  • Maintain content for the US pages of the website and intranet; update and manage information in the BD IT systems (CRM system as well as pitch tracking and deal databases).

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree; previous experience in a law firm or in an advertising, events management or general Marketing/Communications role (in-house or agency based);
  • Basic understanding of BD and marketing practices and processes; high level of confidentiality, discretion, and diplomacy;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; well organized with a strong focus on quality and excellent attention to detail;
  • Ability to work well in a team, including the flexibility to take on tasks outside immediate remit when necessary; ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and stay calm under pressure;
  • Proactive in searching for data and recommending improvements to processes and projects; eager to learn and receptive to constructive feedback; lateral thinking and the ability to overcome obstacles;
  • Intermediate level in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
