BD Specialist- Corporate & Capital Markets

For the New York Office of an International Law Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Draft and maintain BD materials; assist with the preparation of capability statements, tailored client proposals and responses to RFPs; conduct client research and briefings, and competitor and market analysis;
  • Provide support in developing business plans and corresponding marketing plans, as well as analysis of product offerings for groups; produce detailed research reports to support initiatives; provide support in targeting specific industry sectors;
  • Ensure matter information is captured for use in league tables, directory listings, pitches, partner biographies, awards and other external and internal communication activities; develop and maintain content for pitches, the website and intranet;
  • Develop content for various legal industry award competitions; assist with the drafting of annual submissions for relevant legal directories; and submit required data to various industry league tables throughout the year;
  • Assist with the organization of client events; support the production of client communications including newsletters, brochures, contact cards and advertisements, etc.; assist with the production and distribution of client briefings;
  • Assist the US Legal Recruiting team with the development of collateral and content used in the Firm's ongoing recruitment of law school students.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree; 2+ years BD/marketing experience in a financial or professional services firm; law firm experience preferred;
  • Very professional, with superior client service skills and understanding of clients' commercial objectives and marketplace; commitment to quality and attention to detail;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; analytical and research skills;
  • Ability to work as part of a team and with lawyers of all seniority levels, as well as independently;
  • Strong project management and organizational skills; ability to work under pressure and to manage competing needs; proactive and positive approach;
  • Proficiency in PC applications: Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook.
