BD Manager - Complex Litigation

For the Chicago Office of a Global Law Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide BD support and project leadership to attorneys in the Complex Litigation Group (CLG);
• Develop an in-depth knowledge of the practice's services and the firm; keep current on industry developments and trends; collaborate with firm resources to prepare routine analyses of industry competition, market trends, etc.;
• Assist CLG attorneys in identifying BD opportunities with new and existing clients and in executing individual marketing plans; develop and implement marketing strategy;
• Create tailored pitch and proposal materials; develop standard practice related materials, such as practice group profiles, matter lists, case studies, bios, etc.;
• Develop strategy for directory submissions; prepare and submit materials to applicable directories or rating organizations;
• Partner with the PR team to ensure coverage of successful matters and initiatives in key markets.

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree; JD and/or MBA preferred; 5+ years of relevant experience preferably in a large law or professional services firm;
• Deep knowledge of litigation, including business disputes, class action, arbitration, product liability & mass tort, life sciences and managed care, construction and retail & distribution required;
• Strong verbal and written communications skills; customer service attitude and ability to influence leadership and Partners; must be able to think critically, and present ideas and views clearly and with confidence;
• Highly organized with the ability to multi-task, manage workload and competing priorities and pay close attention to details;
• Must be able to demonstrate initiative, be flexible and adaptable and be a good team player;
• Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
