Business Development Specialist- Entertainment, Technology, Media

For the LA Office of a National Law Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Create and produce targeted client proposals and presentations and manage general requests for BD materials, including drafting and customizing proposal content, coordinating attorney input and proofing and distributing final versions;
  • Collaborate with broader BD team in RFP process, including strategizing on approach, drafting responses from start to finish, and liaising with attorneys, pricing team and other groups as necessary to complete submissions;
  • Assist in competitive intelligence gathering, including performing searches using ContactNet and other tools, in support of new business opportunities, client meetings, pitches, proposals, events and other BD initiatives;
  • Provide strategic guidance to attorneys of all levels with respect to new business opportunities, business plans, and other client and practice development related efforts;
  • Track win/loss statistics for pitches, proposals and RFPs, including working within the Firm's CRM database and other tracking tools to ensure all relevant information is captured;

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's Degree; 4+ years of experience in professional services marketing/BD, preferably in a law firm; experience with practices and/or attorneys focusing on advertising, media, technology, and/or entertainment issues preferred, but not required;
  • Enthusiastic self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment; excellent time management skills and attention to detail;
  • Ability to work independently and to collaborate directly with partners, associates and marketing and BD team members;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong technical skills; knowledge of Thomson Reuters Experience Management product and Thomson Reuters BD Premier Suite is preferred;
  • Strong client-service orientation.
