Business Development Specialist
For the New York or DC Office of an International FirmThis is a filled position.
Responsibilities include:
- Identify strategies and opportunities for expanding client relationships led by Partners in the Litigation Practice Group; assist with the execution of marketing and BD strategies, plans and projects, including the tracking and follow-up;
- Develop and maintain currency of all practice-specific marketing collateral, brochures, biographies, practice group descriptions and other communications including web content;
- Oversee the pitch/proposal process within the practice group; develop and create high impact submissions for key legal directories, etc.;
- Serve as the key contact with partners in the practice group in developing and implementing targeted PR efforts and plans;
- Monitor and report on trends and issues impacting clients; disseminate relevant news articles to attorneys and recommend strategies, work with Partners to implement initiatives; prepare client research and analysis of targets;
- Develop timelines, project work plans and budgets to ensure efforts are implemented timely and cost-effectively; plan and manage significant client events; lead and oversee marketing and BD projects as assigned.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's Degree; 5+ years of experience in law firm or professional services BD required; Will support the Litigation group, but prior Litigation practice group experience not required;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proofreading;
- Must be detail oriented, proactive, intellectually curious, self-directed and able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines;
- Ability to travel to other firm offices and/or events and work over time as required;
- Proficiency with Interaction and MS Office Suite is required.
