BD Manager - Litigation
For the NJ office of a Well-Respected Bi-Coastal FirmThis is a filled position.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide the Litigation and Insurance Recovery practice groups with information about new business , cross-selling opportunities, and competitive threats through research on existing and potential clients, competitor activities, and industry trends;
- Manage the practice groups' marketing materials, including gathering and posting information on group news, events, and publications, as well as creating and updating marketing collateral and website material;
- Work with attorneys to help them achieve their marketing and BD goals, and ensure that those activities are coordinated with the efforts of the Firm's other groups; support practice group meetings and aid Chairs in agenda and budget development;
- Identify opportunities for marketing outreach, including finding/creating opportunities for attorneys to meet with clients and prospects; identifying media opportunities and developing media contacts;
- Support the practice groups in preparing pitches and lead the responses to RFPs; prepare presentations and proposals, coordinating with other lawyers, practices or Marketing Department resources as necessary;
- Supervise a Senior BD Specialist who supports several practice groups within Litigation.
Qualifications include:
- BA in marketing, business, or related field; 5+ years related experience; law firm/legal experience required (either a prior practicing lawyer or BD with a multi-office law firm required);
- Excellent research, communication and analytical skills; outstanding attention to detail;
- Excellent writing skills; able to synthesize complex information from various sources into an easily accessible report;
- Excellent organizational and planning skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines under pressure;
- Creativity, flexibility, persistence, motivation, energy, and the ability to work with little supervision and collaborate with the team;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and web-based research sources.
