Manager of Alumni Relations

For the Chicago Office of a Well-Respected Am Law 100 Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Create and manage a program to help lawyers identify in-house opportunities and transition into those roles; offer counseling to lawyers seeking to move; search for open corporate positions and identify lawyers who may be a potential fit;
  • Manage and refine list of alumni; create a plan for updating outdated information on the list (in CRM InterAction); manage the list of alumni who hold in-house roles and might be able to send business to the Firm;
  • Launch the alumni portal, and manage the Firm's existing alumni LinkedIn page; list job postings, alumni news, events, CLE trainings, videos;
  • Manage the twice-a-year distribution of the alumni newsletter; expand the audience through enhanced use of social media;
  • Work with local office leadership to organize annual alumni events in each of the Firm's 5 offices: Chicago, New York, Washington DC, Los Angeles and London; invite alumni to attend CLE seminars hosted in all offices;
  • Implement a program through which lawyers leaving the Firm for in-house positions are paired with a member of the Alumni Committee who will manage the relationship to create future business opportunities.

Qualifications include:

  • 10+ years of marketing experience in a professional services industry;
  • Advanced degree, preferably an MBA or JD, or equivalent work experience; expertise in managing alumni programs is a plus;
  • Highly organized with strong creative abilities; strong verbal and written skills;
  • Must be able to manage on-site and remote teams; must be able to direct work effort and mentor peers and subordinates;
  • Must be able to work with higher levels of firm management and work well as part of a team;
  • Savvy technological skills (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
