Director of Talent & Recruiting

For the New York Office of a Boutique Law Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Source, assess and present candidates for all of the Firm's hiring, including lateral associates, summer associates, foreign associates, paralegals and non-legal staff;
  • Build strategic relationships with career services personnel at key law schools;
  • Manage and administer the attorney and staff evaluation process;
  • Develop, oversee and implement all professional development programs, including mentoring, associate development and training initiatives; manage CLE and skills training for attorneys;
  • Review and assess market trends in attorney and staff compensation and benefits;
  • Assist in the Firm's other business-related functions, specifically with BD/Marketing efforts.

Qualifications include:

  • 5+ years experience in a professional development, recruiting or human resources department within a law firm; JD strongly preferred;
  • Experience recruiting, developing & retaining top talent;
  • Self-starter with strong writing, presentation and organizational skills;
  • Ability to build trusted relationships at all levels, and both within and outside the Firm;
  • Ability to exercise judgment and handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion;
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and various databases.
