I had a long conversation with a colleague who’s been in Big Law for many years. He fears all jobs will disappear and self-driving food trucks will come daily to feed us.
I see AI as a tool that will help us focus on the work we were made for, which includes:
- Creative problem solving
- Intuitive judgement
- Building trust-filled relationships
- Communicating in a client-focused way
I acknowledge that AI will be the biggest disruptor to our workplace and much bigger than COVID. But, I choose to see the opportunities, not the threats.
We have SO many problems to solve to make our world better. AI is not taking them all over!

Imagine if AI took over the tedious and repetitive tasks that distract us from focusing on the important things like:
- Creating thought leadership
- Cultivating client relationships
- Mentoring team members
We will always need a human in the loop.
