Competitive Intelligence Manager

For the Office of a Global Law Firm in New York, Washington DC, Philadelphia, or Boston
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Build systems and infrastructure to create framework for Competitive Intelligence function utilizing technology, financials and library resources;
  • Identify trends to supplement client and new business development activities for all practice areas and crossdisciplinary industry groups;
  • Create comprehensive analytical reports of research findings for development meetings and relationship building;
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis of companies, industries, technologies, marketplaces, and competitors to uncover key, actionable information and insights for business development strategy;
  • Provide succinct, meaningful recommendations to help inform the Firm-wide business development and marketing strategy;
  • Monitor various news/intelligence sources for business development and market visibility opportunities.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; minimum five (5) years experience in a competitive intelligence role required;
  • Well-developed understanding of and experience in a law firm/professional services marketing and business development environment;
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to build effective internal and external client relationships;
  • Knowledge and experience conducting Internet-based research using tools (Lexis/Nexis, Factiva, Hoover’s, ALM Research Online, Lexis AtVantage, Westlaw Monitor Suite) critical;
  • Ability to multi-task, judge priorities, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
