Business Development Manager (Global Finance and Securities & Capital Markets)

For the New York Office of an International Law Firm
This is a filled position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Advise and collaborate with partners, the Business Development, Marketing, and Communications team, as well as other internal stakeholders in the development and execution of strategic business development and marketing campaign plans including goals, act
  • Draft and prepare written proposals, pitches, and other communications to clients, prospective clients, and related third party organizations;
  • Source and disseminate market intelligence to partners that relates to the practice, industries and key clients;
  • Collaborate with the global business development team on the identification and pursuit of cross-selling initiatives; help practice group leaders manage relevant business development budgets;
  • Develop, organize and execute potential client sourcing initiatives, including for emerging growth companies, IPO candidates, public companies and investment banks;
  • Lead practice-level key client teams and work with the Clients & Industries team on best practice and to ensure the identification, development, and growth of high-value services to key clients.

Qualifications include:

  • 5+ years of experience in a corporate law firm setting;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities with strong editing, proofreading and grammar skills;
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems;
  • Knowledge of technologies, developments, trends and literature related to legal and professional services marketing fields;
  • Solid understanding of the needs and expectations of law firm operations and corporate legal clients in order to function at a strategic level;
  • Advanced knowledge of marketing principles, procedures, concepts and practical applications; strong team building, management and leadership skills.
