For the New York Office of a Leading National Alternative Dispute Resolution Firm

Responsibilities include:

  • Design a strategy for and approach to mediator recruiting, engagement, and management;
  • Recruit best-in-class mediators, including former judges and legal practitioners nationwide; seek out quality candidates, assess and confirm their qualifications, negotiate rates, etc.;
  • Research and recruit mediators for specific client opportunities; research and recruit mediators to build out the firm’s roster for nationwide growth including expansion into new markets, practices, industries, and geographies;
  • Develop an onboarding, integration, and mentoring program for new mediators;
  • Work with the sales and marketing team to promote mediators via CLEs and articles, and to develop the mediator CRM database;
  • Build relationships with current mediators; collaborate on joint BD opportunities.

Qualifications include:

  • 10+ years of experience in legal services recruitment (for an attorney staffing agency or in-house law firm talent acquisition team), attorney staffing and utilization, or a recruiting/staffing role for an alternative legal services provider;
  • High level of energy and drive combined with the presence and credibility to deal with a sophisticated audience comprising former judges, law firm partners, and other legal practitioners;
  • Excellent leadership skills (i.e., organizing, planning, problem-solving and decision-making) necessary for effective management;
  • Well-developed and professional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the company and build a network of relationships both internally and externally;
  • Involvement in national/locally based recruitment/professional development organizations;
  • Knowledge, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn about the firm’s major areas of dispute resolution practice, including complex commercial, construction, employment, entertainment, financial services, international, insurance, medical malpractice, personal
Salary: $150k-$175k
