Career Development Advisor
For the NYC Office of a Prestigious Global Law FirmThis is a filled position.
Responsibilities include:
- Build trusted advisor relationships with and provide support to current lawyers and alumni through one-on-one career counseling and coaching sessions;
- Counsel lawyers and alumni on career planning, networking, job search and interview preparation;
- Develop relationships with alumni, clients and recruiters to identify new job opportunities;
- Collaborate with the Career Development Manager to enhance written materials, videos, resources, as well as program offerings, etc.;
- Assist with tracking career development program analytics and identifying key takeaways;
- Stay up-to-date and report on industry and market trends.
Qualifications include:
- JD required;
- Coaching or counseling experience required; 5+ years of experience in the legal, professional services, higher education or recruiting and executive search industry;
- Ability to inspire trust and exercise discretion, confidentiality, and exemplary judgment;
- Empathetic listener and creative problem-solver;
- Ability to demonstrate strategic business acumen and results focus;
- Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint required;
